This Privacy Policy explains how BevBay, operated by MCWD Labs ("BevBay," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and shares information when you use the BevBay website at bevbay.com or use BevBay inside an AI assistant such as ChatGPT (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. It should be read together with our Terms of Service.
Information you give us. If you use our contact form, we collect whatever you choose to enter — such as your name, email address, and message. All of those fields are optional.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, when you visit BevBay our servers and analytics tools automatically record technical information, including your IP address, browser type and settings, device and operating system, the pages you view, the site you came from, and the date and time of your visit.
Preferences. We store small cookies to remember your choices — for example, the country and state you select for the location filter — so the site works the way you left it.
BevBay offers a plugin (also called an app or connector) that lets AI assistants such as ChatGPT search BevBay's price listings on your behalf. When you use it, the assistant — not you directly — sends requests to BevBay's servers.
What we receive. For each request, we receive:
What we do not receive. We do not receive your name, email address, account details, payment information, or the contents of your conversation beyond the specific request the assistant sends to BevBay.
How we use it. We use this information only to answer your request, to prevent abuse (for example, rate limiting), and to produce aggregate statistics — such as how many searches the plugin handles, which products people look for, and which searches returned no results — so we can improve our catalog.
How we store it. Anonymous identifiers are stored only in a one-way hashed (scrambled) form. The text of searches is stored only as aggregate counts and is not linked to any identifier. Request logs are deleted after 90 days; aggregate statistics that contain no personal information may be kept longer.
The AI platform's own practices. Your use of ChatGPT or another assistant is governed by that provider's own terms and privacy policy (for ChatGPT, OpenAI's). We do not control what the assistant stores. You can disconnect BevBay at any time in your assistant's settings.
When you click a link to a retailer from BevBay results — on the website or in an AI assistant —
the link may pass briefly through bevbay.com so we can count the click (which listing was clicked,
when, and whether it came from the website or an assistant). We may add standard tracking
parameters (such as utm_source=bevbay) to the retailer's address so the retailer knows the
visit came from BevBay. We do not send retailers your name, contact details, or any identifier
linked to you.
The BevBay website uses cookies (small text files stored by your browser) for two purposes:

remember your location-filter settings. These stay only in your browser.You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Preference cookies aren't required to browse, but turning them off means the site won't remember your location choice. The AI-assistant plugin does not use cookies.
When a search on the website finds nothing, we count that search's text by day so we can fill gaps in the catalog. Only the search text and a daily count are kept — no IP address, cookie, or other identifier is stored with it.

We do not sell or "share" (for cross-context behavioral advertising) your personal information. We share information only in these limited ways:
When you click through to a retailer, that is your choice, and any information you give the retailer is governed by their privacy policy, not ours.
BevBay links to independent retailer websites and can be used through third-party AI assistants. Once you leave BevBay, or within the assistant itself, you are subject to that party's own privacy practices. We are not responsible for how third-party sites or services collect or use your information.
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, including encrypting connections (HTTPS) and hashing anonymous identifiers. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
BevBay concerns alcoholic beverages and is intended for adults of legal drinking age (21 or older in the United States). It is not directed to minors, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common industry standard for responding to it, and BevBay does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.
BevBay is operated in the United States and is intended for users in the United States. If you access the Service from elsewhere, your information will be processed in the United States.
We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version, and your continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Policy.
